Handling A Duvet And Its Cover

There are some things that with normally take for granted and think we know until we are confronted with the situation. Some days ago I read about how a woman was struggling to put in the duvet in the duvet cover to the point of labelling them “useless” and complicated. I have written a lot about modern duvet covers but I have never thought of this a worthy of a post until now.

Allow me to share with you some of the easier way you can employ when doing this. Hopefully it will save you from the frustration and possible damage to your chocolate brown duvet cover .

I know someone who literally crawls inside her flannel duvet cover in order to stretch and flatten the comforter while inside. I am not sure I would ever do that myself - for starters you have to lay the cover on the floor, which can mess it up especially and may even collect some invisible germs.

One of the most easier ways is to just roll it up - like a carpert. After you do that simply slip it into the cover and then unroll it. My favourite way, however, is to simply turn it inside out and line up the corner of the quilt with the inside seam of your cover. And then once you have lined it up just flip it right side out. While doing it make sure you keep holding on to the corners.

Another option is to buy and use some duvet clips. You use these clips to hold the quilt with the inside seam together so when you flip the cover right side out it fits perfectly into position. The best recommended clip to buy is one that is covered in soft foam. Now once you have the clips on to the seam and quilt you can then just flit the cover right side out.
